What can or should you do specifically?

As a manufacturer or importer, we recommend that you ensure compliance with the REACh regulation through complete documentation:

Have your suppliers confirm in writing that their products do not contain any SVHC – substances.

Carefully archive documentation on the materials used, supplier contracts and audit documents as well as analysis reports that have already been carried out for chemical substances.

If you are not sure whether your products contain SVHC – substances, get a chemical analysis done.

SVHC Candidate List

With the publication of the first SVHC candidate list on October 28, 2008, many trading companies, importers and manufacturers have the task of determining whether one of these substances is contained in the products / materials sold in a concentration of more than 0.1%. If such a substance is included, then in accordance with Article 33, Paragraph 1, the retail chain must be informed about it if a consumer inquires.

The date of inclusion of a candidate substance on the candidate list is important for the producers and importers of articles who are subject to a reporting obligation for this substance in accordance with Article 7 (2) of the REACH Regulation. According to Article 7 (7), this reporting obligation applies six months after a substance has been added to the candidate list from 01.06.2011.

By 2021, ECHA had added several more substances to the candidate list. There are currently more than 200 SVHC substances.

The identification of substances as substances of very high concern and their inclusion in the candidate list is the first step in the authorization process.

Companies have immediate obligations in relation to the substances on the candidate list.
We carry out the necessary tests for * SVHC substances for you.
Our laboratory test reports are used to document your due diligence towards authorities and your customers.

Of course, we can also have the legal requirements regarding PCP, formaldehyde, chromium (VI), nickel release, etc., as well as further pollutant tests carried out for you, e.g. for allergenic disperse dyes or comprehensive tests according to TOXPROOF®, SG® and other requirement catalogs.

Test samples and material samples can be sent directly to the laboratory for analysis:

*Abbreviation SVHC:
SVHC substances are carcinogenic, mutagenic or toxic to reproduction (CMR, cat. 1 and 2), persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic. Furthermore, there are substances that “according to scientific knowledge are likely to have serious effects on human health or the environment”.
Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) can be found in mixtures such as paints, inks and glues or in articles such as toys, furniture, textiles and electrical products.
